We Are A Happy Family

A lot like Mr Potato Head (only harder), try it out at becomeanmm.com
I guess this is the next step after mastering drawing stick people, but before you actually develop talent to create pictures accurately.

A bit biased....but we think he's pretty dang cute!

Ok, so I had some of Ethan's 6 month photos posted here, but in questioning the legality of posting proofs on my blog that I had copied and pasted from the portrait studio's website, I think it's better to just provide a link to the photos on their site. Enjoy!

Happy 26th Birfday Brian!

From being a little munchkin, to having a munchkin of your own--what a cutie! We love you and hope you have a great day :)

Swinging Spring Break

A couple days in Chicago and then a few in Nauvoo for a wedding was a great way to spend the week. Here's the scoop on it:

  • Authentic Chicago Style Pizza at Giordanos was scrumptious

  • The view from the Hancock Observatory was awesome

  • Who knew kicking it at a hotel could be so luxurious?

  • Ethan got his first experience in the "Big Bath Tub"

  • The big Bean-Thing at Millennium Park was amazing!
  • We really "got into" the art at the Art Institute of Chicago

  • Forgetting to take our camera to the Chicago Bulls game was... regrettable. (oh well, they got wasted anyways)
  • Yes, we even got 2 seasons for the price of one: Snow at Spring Break

  • Spending time with the family in Nauvoo was oh-so-fun!

Horray for modesty

Can I just say thank you to Brooke White (American Idol contestant) and this year's Miss Utah Jill Stevens? They are awesome at representing the values they believe in. I've been so impressed to see them in the spotlight of fame and still dress modestly--despite the fact that modest formal or "performing" clothes are near impossible to find. It makes me cry when I see it (I know, I'm nuts). But I just love how they are being great role models to girls, showing them they can be beautiful without flaunting every part of their bodies. When I watched the Miss America pageant this year, I was so proud that Miss Utah was able to wear a one piece swimming suit and sleeved, near-knee-length dresses everytime, even though she was criticized for it, and it probably hurt her standing in the competition.
I've been disappointed at other Mormons who have risen to popularity in TV and media and who dress as if there were no other choice than to follow the world and go skimpy. I hope there are good role models out there when I have little girls wanting to be the next American Idol or Miss America. Miss Modesty, I vote for you!

Valetine's Day Surprise

Our adorable niece Saffi sent us this valentine this year. I know it was a few weeks ago, but it's so cute, I want to share it. Congrats David and Lizz!

Cousin Saffi and Ethan

Look Mom, No Hands!

On a recent visit to visit family in Rochester, MN, Uncle David helped Ethan stand all by himself.

Candidate Match Game

Who's your man? (or woman?)
Brian and I did this quiz to show which Presidential candidate has views most closely aligned with yours. Wow. I won't tell you our results except to say that, according to this, we voted for the wrong person and we're actually in the wrong party... ;) Try it out--and make sure to rank the importance of each issue at the end of the quiz, it definitely changes the results. Enjoy!
